It’s that Time of the Month again…First Friday, February Editon!

It looks like the weather is going to be AWESOME on Friday! Put on your walking shoes and let’s go see some ART!

In addition to an evening of fine art on Friday, It’s FREE DAY at the Denver Art Museum on Saturday, and FREE DAY at the Denver Zoo on Friday and Saturday!

If you are really itching to get a head start on your art viewing, tonight (Thursday) There are some great openings at Hinterland, Walker and William Havu among others.

I know, I’ve Been Neglecting You…but here is your First Friday & Awesome Free Events Line-up for September 4-6!

Dearest Fabulous Readers,

I know I’ve been neglecting you of late, and for that I apologize. The main reason is I just returned from that big crazy arts festival in the desert where we burn things, otherwise known as Burning Man. I brought my Black Rock Portrait Project out there once again, and the prep work for that and for the trip itself was hugely time-consuming, among other things. But I’m back! And here with your September First Friday line-up and awesome Free stuff to do this weekend…

My Favorite Pic for the Weekend…Saturday’s TOUR DE FAT Free Freaky Adult Fun in the Park (City Park that is) with live music, games, and bikes bikes bikes. Bike ride registration is at 10am, the fun in the park rolls all day long. See the full schedule HERE.

Saturday is the monthly Free Day at the Denver Art Museum

I know it’s not technically on the weekend, but Monday is a Free Day at the Museum of Nature & Science.

September is a BIG First Friday night in Denver! The Arts Districts will be in full swing tonight. The weather is cool, so break out your favorite Fall sweater and boots and go see some art tonight. Here is the First Friday line-up courtesy of Denverarts.org…

DENVER! There’s Some Cool-Ass Art (and more) Happening in the City this Weekend…(Most FREE)

I know, it’s not my usual First Friday post (that’s actually next week) but there is some great art happening this weekend I wanted to share with you.

1st off, it’s FREE DAY at the DAM (Denver Art Museum) this Saturday.

Then it’s FREE DAY at the Museum of Nature & Science on Sunday.

And if all that Free-ness isn’t enough for you, There are TWO FREE DAYS at the Denver Botanic Gardens on Monday & Tuesday.

Now on to the ART…

There are a heap of good-looking openings on Friday night, though I’ll be narrowing it down to “Small Works” at Gallery 1261, 25 Years of Open Press at McNichols, and Evan Mann at Ironton. My top pick Saturday Night is the opening at Redline, “A New Attitude: Chen Man’s Provocative Interpretations of Contemporary Chinese Women” Reception is open to the public at 7-10pm. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you had a marvelous holiday and are all geared up for a Fabulous 2014. Let’s start it off right with some art this weekend. Friday the 3rd is First Friday and all your favorite Denver Arts Districts will be in full swing. The weather is supposed to be great this weekend (60 on Friday!) so get out of your jammies and into the galleries.

The art opening listings are below, and remember that Saturday (and the first Saturday of every month) is FREE at the Denver Art Museum!

AND next Tuesday the 7th is FREE DAY at the Denver Botanic Gardens!
